Hello Richland High School community! My name is Brian Eaton and I am in my 16th year of teaching orchestra, currently serving as the Fine Arts Department Chair and Director of Orchestras at Clark High School in Plano, Texas. I truly enjoy and have a passion for teaching music through stringed instruments. What really fuels me as a teacher is the day-to-day journey alongside our students, helping them to realize they are capable of achieving the high level of mastery that music demands of musicians. Orchestras under my direction have consistently received Sweepstakes awards at UIL Concert and Sightreading, and I am also responsible for the first high school level beginning strings/orchestra class in my current district (it's never too late to start learning an instrument!).
In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I am an active member of TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) and TMAA (Texas Music Adjudicators Association) and have judged UIL evaluations in several regions of the state. As a violist, I have performed with several symphony orchestras in the DFW area, including the Arlington, Garland, and Las Colinas Symphony Orchestras. My current performing joy includes playing in musical theater pit ensembles, most recently a production of Pierre, Natasha and the Great Comet of 1812.
I am very excited to join Prosper ISD and Richland High School to help build a community of orchestral music where students are encouraged to develop their musical creativity and skills!
"The true beauty of music is that it connects people. It carries a message, and we, the musicians, are the messengers."
