Ryan Patton is honored and excited to serve as the teacher leading Prosper ISD's new Cybersecurity Academy. Initially, his professional life involved a decade in the IT industry, focusing intensely on data security, disaster recovery planning, and consulting for large-scale server migrations. Subsequently, he followed his passion and shifted his focus toward education, amassing 19 fulfilling years of teaching and a few years as an administrator overseeing STEM program development as a CTE Coordinator. The last ten years have been particularly enriching, involving teaching AP Computer Science A and Advanced Computer Science III in Frisco ISD at Reedy HS and writing national programming contests for Python, C++, Java and C#.
On the home front, his family is deeply connected to Prosper ISD, as his son attends Rushing Middle School and will soon join Richland High School. He also had the privilege of coaching football multiple years with PYSA, strengthening his ties to our wonderful community. He is very passionate about the opportunities the Cybersecurity Academy will provide our PISD students, and he looks forward to building champions at Richland High School!
