Good Morning Jaguar Nation!
We had an amazing schedule walk! It was so great to see our students and families in our building for the first time this school year! If you attended our Jones Middle School Schedule Walk, we would love your feedback utilizing this feedback form.
We are so excited about the first day of school on Tuesday! Please read announcements and procedures below about our first day!
1st Day Announcements
I wanted to let everyone know that we prioritize safe arrival, lunch, and safe dismissal our 1st day of school.
Please read below our Arrival and Dismissal procedures . When dropping off your students, please stay in your cars when dropping off your students and utilize the correct side of the building if dropping off by car. We do not allow parents to walk students into the building. Make sure that you communicate with your student what the transportation plan is for dismissal as well if it is different then drop off. We do not have name tags for cars for students and expect student to look for their cars and walk to them independently. Teachers and administrators will be monitoring car lines for safety. Please always pullup as far forward as possible and students will walk to your car. Check skyward for your bus number, pick up time, and location pick up. All drop offs and pick ups take longer then they normally would on the first week of school.
Lunch - Please have a lunch plan for your student. With new procedures lunch will take more time then normal. We will communicate lunch procedures and times with every student prior to our lunch time starting. I highly recommend you go over lunch options with your student if they are purchasing lunch. Schedules
All schedules can be accessed in our skyward system. As we continue to add students are counseling team will be working on leveling classes through out the 2 weeks of school for the best student experience for this school year. We will help student through this process and through out the beginning of the school year.
School Times Arrival and Dismissal:
Middle School Time- 8:15 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The building opens at 7:30 am for students to walk in.
With us being a brand new middle school, this can create new traffic patterns that we will be learning about throughout the school year. The Prosper ISD police department will be assisting with traffic and student commuters on Hardy and Coit crosswalk. It will take some time for our traffic patterns to normalize. During drop off and pick up we ask that parents remain in cars and discuss with your students drop off and pick up each day.

Prosper ISD Transportation
Bus routes are now being added and available in Skyward, so please check there for the latest updates. This year transportation services are utilizing the StopFinder app, which is fully integrated with Prosper ISD routing software, GPS and other communications tools to provide accurate, real-time data. The app includes bus schedules and allows parents to set up notifications to track their child’s route, view the bus’s location and receive updates on arrival times and delays.

Parent Teacher Organization - PTO
All families are encouraged to join our Jones Middle School PTO! There are great deals if you join right now with included Jag Swag! All school volunteer opportunities are run through our Parent-Teacher Organization. Get involved and make a difference for our students and school community!
School Supplies
This is a reminder that students do not need to bring all their supplies the first day. These supplies are intended to last the entire year. Please send your student with a few supplies the first day, and add additional supplies as needed. If you did not pick up your pre ordered school supplies during schedule walk they will be handed out at the end of the first day to your students.

There are several à la carte options that vary in price including chick fil-a, ice cream, candy, and other drink options. Please make sure you discuss meal options with your student and how much they should be spending each week. Money may be added to student lunch accounts here. Note that funds added to meal accounts will not be available until the next day. For child lunch questions including free and reduced lunch, meal account restrictions, or school menus please check out our Prosper ISD nutrition Website.
Technology
Students in Prosper ISD are provided a Chromebook to use throughout the year. Each campus has a technician to help with any technology needs. If you are new to Prosper ISD, student will receive their chrome book by the end of the first week.

We are so excited to welcome nearly 1250 students on August 13 to Jones Middle School! Thank you for choosing Prosper ISD; we are delighted to have you as part of our community.
