Important Information for New Families

We know that it is disappointing news that, as a new family, your child will not be able to attend Christie Elementary School this year due to the extreme growth Prosper ISD continues to experience year after year.    We are truly honored that you have chosen our district, and we are committed to ensuring your child's success throughout their time here.

In light of this, we have made the difficult decision to close Christie Elementary enrollment to new students for the 2024-2025 school year.

INCREASED ENROLLMENT AT CHRISTIE ELEMENTARY

We want to be open and transparent about increased enrollment at Christie Elementary, which currently has over 1,000 students. This number exceeds the building's capacity by a significant margin, and we must ensure that our students continue to learn in a conducive environment while prioritizing their safety.  We want to ensure that we minimize the number of students in our portable learning buildings–especially our littlest learners.  As always, student safety is a critical consideration every day.

In light of this, we have made the difficult decision to close Christie Elementary enrollment to new students for the 2024-2025 school year.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHERE MY CHILD WILL ATTEND SCHOOL for 2024-2025?

This placement is for the 2024-25 school year only.  Your children will attend Bryant Elementary School at 3830 Freeman Way, Prosper, TX 75078, approximately 4.7 miles from Christie Elementary.  Your student will be eligible for transportation to this campus for the 2024-2025 school year.

WHERE WILL MY CHILD ATTEND SCHOOL in 2025-2026?

In 2025-2026, we anticipate opening two new elementary schools.  So, we have not yet established attendance boundaries for those schools.  The Board of Trustees will approve the attendance boundaries for all elementary schools no later than December 2024.   As part of our attendance boundary adjustment process, we will have meetings to gather input from affected families.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS

We understand that this decision may raise questions and concerns, and we want to assure you that we have carefully considered the best interests of all our students in making this choice. Our primary focus is to provide a positive, supportive, and safe learning environment for all children, and this decision is vital in achieving that goal.

If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don't hesitate to contact us. We value your partnership and collaboration in ensuring the best educational experience for your child.

Thank you for entrusting Prosper ISD with your child's education. Every elementary school in Prosper ISD is outstanding, and I want to reassure you that your child will receive a high-quality education no matter which school they attend. I believe with all my heart that you and your family will have an amazing year next year.

FASTEST GROWING DISTRICT IN NORTH TEXAS

At Prosper ISD, excellence is the standard we strive for every day, both from our dedicated staff and our eager students. We take immense pride in providing exceptional educational opportunities to all learners, which has led to our district being recognized as one of the fastest-growing in the nation. Last year alone, we welcomed 3,400 new students, and our total enrollment has now reached nearly 30,000 students.  With this growth comes the need for expansion to accommodate our increasing student population.  This year, we opened four new campuses – one high school, two elementary schools, and one early childhood school. Additionally, next year, we will open one new middle school and one new elementary school.
