Ms. Miller has visited 3 of the 6 Disney castles around the world.
Mrs. McClung has been married to her high school sweetheart for 33 years.
Mrs. Villani has been skydiving even though she’s afraid of heights.
Mrs. Carter can play the saxophone.
Miss Stewart read 180 books last year.
Mrs. Jefferson is terrified of birds.
Miss Madden has watched Shrek the movie over 100 times.

The Hippos loved decomposing spiders and writing number bonds in math. They got caught in a web of fun and meaningful practice with a partner, while "sticking" numbers to their schema!
Third grade enjoyed analyzing fall sensory poems. They highlighted the sensory words and then labeled which senses were being used. What a great activity to go along with the fall weather we have this morning!
Congratulations to our Star Polishers for the 1st semester: Mrs. Waters, Coach Landphair, and Mrs. Massingill. We appreciate everything they do to make our school amazing! Thank you to the Prosper Education Foundation for recognizing educators across the district.

In honor of Principal's Week next week, we will have some fun dress up days starting October 20. Monday will be Superhero day!
The Bobcats have been working on story elements like characters, setting and key events (beginning, middle and end). These Kindergarteners worked on responding in their reading journals about the key events from the book, "The Biggest Pumpkin Ever!" They were able to draw what happened in the beginning, middle and end of the story.

Boyer third, fourth and fifth graders had an inspiring visit with author Mari Mancusi on Tuesday. She talked with them about how she practiced and learned to become an author, where she gets the ideas for her stories and to dream big and never give up. We want to give a HUGE thank you to our amazing PTO for sponsoring this incredible opportunity!
What an incredible visit from Dr. Michael Cox today! Our 2nd graders learned all about how the knee works and then got to collaborate on designing their own knee braces. This is exactly the kind of real-world learning that makes science come alive for young students. Huge thanks to Dr. Cox for taking the time to inspire our future engineers, doctors, and problem-solvers.

Boyer first graders did a "Book Tasting" where they explored different series of books that are great for first grade readers. We had a lot of students excited to check out books they had never seen before. Happy reading first graders!
Did you know that the school library does more than literacy based lessons and book check outs? Sometimes during library lessons Mrs. Henry works with teachers to do lessons in other subjects. Today Boyer kindergarteners reinforced what they were learning about in Science with a lesson in the library on patterns of motion. They had fun watching Ozobots demonstrate going over, under, stopping, spinning and zip zagging. What a fun lesson!
Boyer Third Graders had fun doing a "book tasting" in the library. They got to look through twelve different series of books and rate each one. We had a lot of students excited to get started reading!

The case of the Cookie Jar Mystery is heating up in third grade! Today, young forensic scientists in Mrs. Cooper's class built suspect boards, carefully analyzing each person's alibi and motive to help crack the case.
