Things to Know About Background Checks

Here is some helpful information to help you determine whether you need to go through this process.

• To ensure the safety and security of our students and staff, Prosper ISD requires a background check every year.

• Even if you have children on multiple campuses, you only need to submit one check a year.  You do not need one per campus.

• If you only want to eat lunch with your child, you do not need to submit a background check.  You will only need to bring your driver’s license with you to the campus.

• Background checks are required for the following (this list is not exhaustive):

If you want to volunteer in any capacity anywhere in the district
If you want to be a student observer
If you want to attend a field trip
If you are a guest speaker for a class or group
If you are helping with the coaching of a sports team or any other student group
If you are delivering athletic meals
