  • Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS)

    OSERS is a branch of the Department of Education that provides a wide array of support to parents and individuals, school districts and states in three main areas: special education, vocational rehabilitation and research.

  • Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP)

    The Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), a division of OSERS, is dedicated to improving results for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities ages birth through 21 by providing leadership and financial support to assist states and local districts.

  • Special Olympics Texas

    Special Olympics Texas provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual abilities.

  • The Office of Special Education Programs Spanish Glossary Project

    The right of parents to participate in educational decision-making regarding their child with a disability is an important underpinning of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The OSEP Spanish Glossary was developed by the USDOE OSEP in collaboration with 17 Parent Centers across the country to ensure that educational terms related to the implementation of IDEA used in documents to promote parents’ authentic participation are translated in a uniform and comprehensible way, across states, geographical regions and communities of Spanish speakers. 

  • National Library Service

    Through a national network of cooperating libraries, NLS administers a free library program of Braille and audio materials circulated to eligible borrowers in the United States by postage-free mail. This service is provided through the Library of Congress.

    The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is a resource containing detailed fact sheets, research studies, and information about clinical trials.

  • LifePath Systems

    LifePath Systems is the contact for children birth to age three residing in Prosper ISD attendance area who may have developmental, speech, language, or physical delays.

    The CLD is an international organization concerned about issues related to students with learning disabilities.

  • American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

    The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is an organization the provides resources such as a glossary of terms, facts for families, research, and press releases.

  • Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)

    CEC is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and the gifted.

    JAN is a free consulting service designed to increase the employability of people with disabilities.
