Daniel L. Jones was born November 23, 1963, in Denison, Texas, to Herbert L. and Cora Aline Jones. He and his brothers, Russell and Keith,  grew up in Wylie, Texas.

Mr. Jones graduated from Wylie High School in 1982. He was inducted into the Wylie High School Sports Hall of Honor in 2006. He earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration 1988 from East Texas State University. Texas A&M University-Commerce awarded him the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2023.

In 1988, he married Donna Spurgin. Their three children, Trevor, Katelynn, and Reagan, attended Prosper ISD from kindergarten through graduation.

Mr. Jones began his career at Encore Wire in 1989 and currently serves as Chairman, President, and CEO. He also served as a trustee and president on the Prosper ISD Board of Trustees from 2002 to 2018. He is also a member of the Athletic Hall of Honor Committee. His steadfast commitment to the community has left a lasting impact on the district and its residents.
