School Board Appreciation

January is designated by the State of Texas as “Board Appreciation Month”. Prosper ISD benefits from the tireless work and countless hours contributed by these local citizens who work without pay. Serving as a crucial link between community and classroom, this board is responsible for an annual budget of over $100 million, 10,000+ students, 1,225 employees, and 10 campuses and GROWING! Please join us in thanking these dedicated volunteers for their efforts to make a difference and their unfailing commitment to the continued success of our students now and in the future.

Growth Mindset in GT Students

January 12th

Please join us on Thursday, January 12 at 6:30 pm in the PISD Admin Boardroom (605 E. 7th) for a presentation on Growth Mindset. Gifted Minds Prosper will host a networking event from 6:30pm to 7:00pm and the presenter, Kay Shurtleff, will begin at 7:00pm.

The term “growth mindset” is currently trendy in educational, as well as corporate, circles. As the concept has gained popularity, a growing number of misconceptions have emerged. We will return to Dr. Carol Dweck’s original research to answer the question "what exactly is growth mindset?" We will also consider reasons that it is important for gifted learners and ways to cultivate it in gifted learners.
