Kindergarten Gifted and Talented Referrals

Nov. 28th - Dec. 9th

Although all kindergarten children will take the CogAT in December, it is necessary for parents interested in having their child considered for gifted and talented (GT) placement to refer him/her. The referral window for kindergarten GT screening is November 28th at 8:00 a.m. through Dec. 9th at 3:00 p.m. Referrals will be accepted online through Infosnap and the link will be available on the GT website only during the referral window. The link will open on Monday, November 28th at 8:00 a.m. No late referrals will be accepted. Referrals for all other grade levels will be in March. More Info

24 PHS Band Students Advance at All Region

Congratulations to the 24 students from the Mighty Eagle Band on their advancement to ‘Phase Two’ of the the Texas Music Educators Region 24 Auditions. These students competed alongside over 1,000 other musicians as they represented Prosper High School in our newly formed Region, comprised of all of the Frisco, Plano and Little Elm ISD schools. PHS advanced the 4th highest number of students to ‘Phase Two’ out of the eleven 5A high schools involved.

A special congratulations to Abby Riley for placing 3rd overall in Bass Clarinet and to Brandon Richardson for placing 3rd overall in Trumpet. Brandon also earned distinction as 1st Chair Trumpet in for the Region Philharmonic Orchestra and has advanced to the TMEA Area B band auditions. At Area auditions Brandon will compete with the top trumpets from 4 other Regions in effort to earn a position in the Texas All State Band. GOOD LUCK BRANDON!!!

PHS's Broadcast Comedy Team Invited to Meet Stephen Colbert

Dallas Morning News
has released a story on the PHS “late night talk” comedy show (The Mid-Morning After 10, But Still Just Before Lunch Show).

Six senior boys from Prosper High School (Brady Powers, Ty Bowman, Cutter Nielsen, Ryan Shirley, Landyn Cason, & Abner Murillo) were invited by CBS and Stephen Colbert to shadow the late night host at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City. The team will be leaving this Saturday, December 10 and work with the staff of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday, December 12.
