Hello Baker Family! I cannot tell you how excited I am to start our journey together this year! I have been in PISD for 10 years now, working at Rucker, Rogers, Reynolds and now at Baker Elementary School, the best school in Prosper!

After completing my undergraduate studies at the University of California, Riverside, I began teaching in 1991 in San Bernardino, California, as a 6th grade teacher. Since then, I have taught elementary, middle and secondary, learning something new at every level. In 1998 I completed my Masters Degree in history at West Virginia University. I returned to teaching as quickly as I could and have never looked back!

No matter what grade level or subject I taught, it was and is my unwavering belief that ALL students can learn at high levels and enjoy amazing success! It is one of my single biggest joys to watch students explore, grow and create as they ready themselves for the challenges ahead. After more than 26 years as an educator, I still get just as excited about the first day of school as I did walking into that classroom in San Bernardino, California in 1991.

My husband and I have been married for 20 years and have a 16 year old daughter Madeline who is a junior at PHS. When we arrived in Prosper in 2005, my husband saw a bumper sticker that read "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could!" He said that about sums us up! We could not have chosen a better place to raise and educate our daughter.

As we begin the 2017-2018 school year together, please know that I am so honored to have this opportunity to serve you all and am dedicated to making this the best year ever!

It is a wonderful feeling to be a part of the Baker Elementary family! As I enter my ninth year in education I am blessed to find myself with the opportunity to serve the students and community at Baker.  Having grown up in a small town and being a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of ’02, I find myself drawn to small town pride and school spirit, which is why I chose to make the move to Prosper ISD last year.

I am married to a fellow educator and high school basketball coach, Scott Patterson.  We have two beautiful and sassy daughters.  Ruby Claire is five and started Kindergarten this year. Our baby, Kate, was just born in March and is full of smiles. My favorite pastime activity includes going to the rare movie with my hubby, reading young adult novels, eating tacos (as many as I eat – it’s truly a hobby) and having dance parties in the living room with my daughters.

I cannot express the excitement I have felt as this school year has begun. I have been fully energized in getting to know the amazing staff here at Baker and seeing how much they truly love what they do. Now, as students and families have once again entered our building, I am filled with so much joy to meet each and every one of you; your high fives and hugs have warmed my heart.

I want to thank the Baker community for being so warm and welcoming. I truly love being here and I am honored to serve you – Baker Elementary, the BEST school in Prosper!
