Meet the Reynolds Counselors

  •

    Melissa Covin

Welcome, Reynolds Eagles!  This is my tenth year here at the middle school level in Prosper ISD.  My first year in the district was the year that Rogers MS opened and I was the only full-time 7th grade Texas History teacher in the entire district.  My how I have seen this district change and evolve!  Since then, I was moved to Reynolds when the district reconfigured grade levels amongst the schools and 7th and 8th graders were moved into the old high school building, which is now Reynolds!  While finishing my master's degree in school counseling, I was driven to obtain middle school experience teaching in all core subject areas, so I moved on to teach 7th grade math, 8th grade PreAP science, and finally 7th and 8th grade reading before moving into my current role as a counselor.

I grew up in Plano, TX and have stayed in the North Texas area through college and graduate school.  I am married to a firefighter, have three children (Jamison - a 6th grader at Rogers, Caylin - a kindergartener at Hughes, Amelia - a 2 year old soon-to-be Prosper Eagle), and a Lab/Husky named Keely.
I love my family, I love my friends, and I love my students and role here at Reynolds!

Welcome back, Eagles!  I am excited to return to Reynolds for my fifth year in Prosper and tenth in education.  I received my undergraduate in Education from Baylor University and Masters in School Counseling from Amberton University.  I am a southern California native and ventured to Texas when pursuing my undergraduate degree.  I now consider Texas my home; however, I do love to travel, find new places, and explore different cultures along the way!

We are always willing to meet with you regarding the well-being of your child.  Please call or email us if you have any questions about the comprehensive guidance and counseling program we have established here at Reynolds.
